LEAVING CYPRUS? - MAKE SURE YOU MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS ON MOTOR INSURANCE! <back
MANY Servicemen are aware that arranging cover following a posting to Cyprus can be problematical with most UK insurers refusing to acknowledge any No Claims Bonus earned on the island. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg warns Keith Frampton of Forces specialist insurance broker TF Insurance.
Dangerous exclusions…
Some insurers exclude cover whilst you are on a military base and the vast majority exclude cover if you are deemed to be ‘airside’ even if your duties need you to in order to get to and from work. However, there is a better way. The Forces Insurance policy underwritten by Groupama Insurance and available from TF Insurance was especially designed for HM Forces and covers personnel throughout mainland Europe without the need for cover to be cancelled and re-arranged on postings.
Unrivalled benefits…
Not only does the policy allow Bonus earned from ANY previous insurer the policy also provides the cover so sadly missing from most insurers AND includes many extra features. This includes free Business cover (ideal for JPA claims) and Laid Up cover which will allow motorists to maintain valuable cover on their vehicles if they are taken off the road following (say) a deployment thus allowing a significant reduction on the premium payable. Another feature that may be of special interest to Service families is that if you are a 2-car family any No Claims Discount earned on your first car can be used again on the second vehicle and (if you desire) transferred to the spouse.
