MOTOR INSURANCE PREMIUMS FALL  <back

IT'S NOT OFTEN you hear of motor insurance premiums falling as we've all become accustomed to regular hikes in the annual cost of protecting our prized possessions.

However, motorists in BFG have enjoyed the benefit of a softening market following the introduction of new insurers.

Keith Frampton of TF Insurance Services explained that "whilst it has always been maintained that UK insurance companies provided a better level of cover for BFG motorists this had come at a price. However," he continued "average premiums recorded for December 2003 are now some 20% lower than that recorded for December 2002", which is welcome news.

Asked about UK premiums Mr Frampton was less enthusiastic:
“There has been a stabilising of UK premiums and it is unlikely that we will see the type of increases this year that we experienced a few years ago. However, a 20% reduction in the UK is probably not on the cards!”
